When you think it's finished, that's when it all begins...

Hi everyone. Time for a quick recap on what I have been doing with my bad self. Well, on Thursday night, I went out for drinks with friends, and it was such good fun. You know those nights where you just talk about anything and everything? Well it was one of those. These are friends who always make me laugh too, so there was plenty of laughter. Then Friday came around like a welcome old friend, and I headed out for the evening again...!
Although it is almost too cold to sit outside now, we pretended that it was still summer and huddled around a table with a glass of Pinot Grigio (me) and a pint of Guinness (him) chatting and watching the world go by. Saturday I slept in for so long that I felt as though I had hibernated. I eventually awoke and saw soft yellow sunlight filtering through the bedroom curtains, so I jumped up and went for a 5 mile run. Just kidding, had you there for a second though! I spent a couple of hours making myself look vaguely human and then headed into Liverpool for some lunch and shopping.  There was more than a hint of autumn in the cool air, and I forgot about everything apart from the breeze, the architecture and the beauty of the city. Liverpool and me is a love story that I hope will never end. This city makes me feel so many emotions and it never ceases to amaze me how lovely the people are here. You can have so many interesting conversations with strangers here, there is a warmth and kindness that is particular to this city. Here is my outfit of the day from Saturday:

Everything Primark except for the bag, which is from Forever 21.

The jacket is faux fur.

Anyway, lunch on Saturday was at a beloved old haunt of mine, Olive Restaurant and Bar on Castle Street, Liverpool. I have been going to this restaurant for years, back when it was called The Olive Press, and it never disappoints.
We had a starter of Fresh Houmous with Ciabatta CroĆ»tes, which was delicious. The bread was crispy and light and the houmous was drizzled with pesto and topped with olives. On to the mains, being the pizza monster that I am, I opted for a Pizza Margherita. The base was light and crispy, stonebaked (just as a good pizza base should be) and there was the perfect amount of melted mozzarella on top, counterbalanced with a tangy tomato sauce. Perfect.
My dining partner had a Pollo Pesto pizza, topped with roast chicken, roasted red peppers, mozzarella and green pesto. I sampled some and it was heaven on a plate. For dessert, there was Tiramisu, I only had one spoonful because I was full but it was superb.
All in all, another perfect meal and I enjoyed it so much. Special shout out to Matt who served us and was so friendly, kind and obliging to our every request. It really makes a difference when you eat out if you have a lovely person like this tending to your table.

After lunch, it was time for shopping and a Starbucks break of course :)

I love Liverpool so much.

Bobbi Brown, be still my beating heart!

A quick recharge in Starbucks, post-shopping. I had iced tea.

So that's all for now lovely readers. What have you been up to this weekend? Remember, I love to read your comments and I follow back my followers.

Sipping a milkshake in a snowstorm...

Hi everyone, how are you all? I have been super busy so far this week and once again the time seems to have flown by. I went to see my family at the weekend,  and it was nice to catch up and spend quality time with them, chatting, walking the dog and eating Chinese food as usual!
I also went to the cinema and out for a scrumptious Thai dinner recently too, which was lovely. Those are the moments I treasure so much in life, going out for dinner and seeing friends...it just makes me so happy and that is what I have been trying to do lately, in order to appreciate more how blessed I really am, I look at all the good and joyful things in my life and then try to do more of them.
Clothing wise, I am still resisting the fact that the new season is upon us. I fear that it will be too cold for bare legs soon, but for now I am still getting away with it, and of course relying on good old Dove Summer Glow so that my legs look a little bit tanned. Seriously, that is a product I just adore.  I have been loving this white duster coat from Primark again lately, I love how fresh and crisp it looks paired with an all black outfit. Here is what I wore one day this week to have lunch with a friend who I had not seen in a while:

Last night I went to a free preview screening of 'The Maze Runner' at Vue Cinema in Cheshire Oaks. We got the tickets via Heat magazine, so look out every Tuesday when the magazine comes out as it often has the offer for free cinema tickets inside. One tip I would suggest is to buy the magazine as soon as possible on Tuesday and go to the website for free tickets, as the tickets soon disappear. The film itself was excellent, exciting and moving with great performances and excellent effects. I didn't want the film to end it was so good, and I would definitely recommend it to everyone.

Ever since I have lived in the Liverpool area (about 8 years now) I have gone to an amazing Thai restaurant called The Chill Pot on North John Street in Liverpool City Centre (formerly called Sabai). I can honestly say that it is hands down my favourite restaurant ever, the food is just mouth wateringly sublime and it never disappoints. The prices are good too, for food of such an amazing standard. It just blows the competition out of the water, and I have never walked away feeling less than delighted. Last week, I decided it was high time to have dinner there after not having been for a while. We started with Chicken Satay and Vegetable Spring Rolls followed by the amazing main courses. My dining companion had a Thai beef dish and I had my all time favourite meal, Mango Gai. This is strips of chicken breast coated in the lightest batter and fried, then served in the most mouth-watering mango sauce. I honestly cannot describe how this tastes, it is just the best thing I have ever eaten. I always have it with Coconut Rice too, a sticky rice cooked in coconut milk. For dessert we had chocolate cake with coconut ice cream. It was a perfect meal.
All round it is just a wonderful restaurant. If you are ever in Liverpool, this is the place to go for Thai food, it is a well kept secret and the food and service are both impeccable. The interior of the restaurant is simple and modern, with decorative touches of the far east such as golden statues, floating flowers and Buddhas. They also offer an amazing two course lunch for £8.95 and an early evening dinner two course menu for £11.95. Both the lunch and dinner set menus include a drink in the price too.

Put my thing down, flip it and reverse it...

Hi everyone, I hope that you have all had a good week. I am back with a round up of what I have been up to this past week, starting of course with a recent outfit of the day. Remember the kimono I bought a while ago from Primark? Well, I wore it out to lunch in the outfit seen below. I think it is the kind of garment which needs to be worn with a plain outfit, or it just looks overwhelming. I paired it with a simple body-con skirt from H&M and other black accessories.

How cool  are red telephone boxes? Of course, they are a relic of another time now that most of us have mobile phones, but there is still something quaint and reassuringly British about them.  I just love to see them as they make me feel as though I am part of a bygone era. Here is a picture I took of one when I was walking back from my friends house recently.

Rarely a week goes by at the moment when I am not fortunate enough to go out for lunch with a friend, This week, my lovely friend Claire and I headed out for lunch at one of our favourite pubs,The Anchor Inn at Irby, Wirral. The food was delicious, Claire had a gammon steak and I had a cheeseburger which was accompanied by a homemade relish and plenty of fries. Of course, we also had a glass of wine and lot's of gossip to compliment our meal :)

I am still loving this Limited Edition hat which I got in Primark. £10 was amazing value, and of course Collection lipstick in the shade 'Bubblegum' which rarely leaves my lips!

Simple pleasures in life can sometimes be all that we need, Organic Earl Grey tea and Reeses Peanut Butter Cups were just what I wanted when I got home one afternoon this week. I sat out in the garden and enjoyed a little bit of 'me' time.

I was lucky enough to go on several relaxing walks this week with friends. I adore seeing the falling leaves in a spectrum of colours at this time of the year. I took this picture on one of the walks:

This Onken yoghurt is a revelation, it is so delicious! I happened to see it in Morrisons supermarket and I just had to buy it since it was such an unusual flavour combination.

Now that it is getting slightly cooler, I love to have soup as a snack or meal. This country vegetable one was made by the Covent Garden Soup Co and I enjoyed it in the garden whilst looking through a book of Kandinsky paintings. What an artistic genius. Once again, the simple pleasures in life are what I truly relish at the moment.

So that is all for now lovely readers, I am having a relaxing evening watching Keeping Up With The Kardashians and eating Ben n Jerry's ice cream! What do you all have planned this weekend? Remember, I love to read your sweet comments and I follow back my followers.

Until next time,

I was recently approached by the brand Accessoryo to compile a 'wishlist' of items from their website. They kindly offerered me a 20% discount code to share with you lovely readers, so if you shop on the site, simply enter the code COCOCAMI20 at the checkout to receive a 20%  discount on your shopping. There are some fab pieces on the site, here are my top five picks:

'Nope' hat £9.99
This hat is a fun item for autumn and winter, great to throw on for a walk on a chilly day.

Sunglasses £8.95
I love the tortoiseshell effect of these sunglasses, they look so chic and could pass for designer.

Blue envelope style clutch bag £22.50
This chic clutch is great for adding a pop of colour to a plain outfit.

Necklace £15.99
This is my favourite of all the pieces on my wishlist, I just love how pretty this statement necklace is and it would look amazing dressed down with a t shirt and jeans or dressed up with a little black dress. It is such a versatile piece.

Earrings £12.50
These earrings really stood out to me as I was browsing through the website, they are so elegant and understated. I think they would look amazing if you were wearing your hair up in a bun.

And I will love thee still, my dear...

So here we are lovely readers and I am sure that it has not escaped your notice that it is le weekend once more.  I had a super day yesterday, meeting a friend and enjoying the sight of the first leaves turning that glorious spectrum of russet, golden and burgundy colours which heralds the onset of autumn. Of course, many of us have mixed feelings about autumn; it is after all the twilight of the year, signalling the drawing in of nights and the donning of extra layers to keep warm.
I had not invested in a new season coat until I saw this one in Primark. It is everything a coat should be, versatile,  chunky, cosy and stylish. It only cost £23 yet the quality is similar to something you would find in Zara or Topshop at a much greater price. Despite that inter-seasonal malaise I am experiencing at the moment, I decided it was time to start dressing as though it is autumn even though the temperatures are still fairly mild. This outfit was what transpired:

Everything current season Primark except for the bag which is from Forever 21

 Outfit details.

A relaxing Saturday morning breakfast in my little glen of tranquility!

So, it is undoubtedly with mixed feelings that we bid adieu to the summer months. After all, there are so many amazing things about summer...barbecues, maxi dresses, sunbathing, picnics in the park, ice cream, trips to the beach and sitting outside for a drink with friends. Let us just pause for a moment to reflect on those late lamented summer pleasures...!
Oh well, the good news is that there are so many enjoyable things about autumn, here are a few of my personal highlights:

Kicking through a giant pile of crispy autumn leaves. This is a no-brainer, everyone loves doing this, even those who pretend to hate it secretly love it...!

Log fires. Sadly I do not have one in my home, so I will have to settle for finding them in country pubs...any excuse. Speaking of pubs...

Pub lunches are an ideal way to spend an autumn afternoon. A cosy sweater, knee high boots over skinny jeans and a floppy hat is the perfect look for an autumn pub lunch in my humble opinion...I digress, but there are also some amazing tartan scarves in Primark which are perfect to wear for an autumn pub lunch! Why does everything come back to Primark with me...?!

Steaming cups of coffee/tea/any other hot drink (maybe even Irish Coffee if we are talking sheer decadence!) after a long walk in the crisp autumn air.

Pumpkin spiced latte at Starbucks. With a chocolate brownie? Oh, if you insist!

Baking. Obviously you can bake all year round, but when the nights draw in, I feel more like whipping up a batch of cookies or a homemade pie. Mmm...!

Going to the cinema. I don't really go to the cinema much in the summer, as it seems like a waste to be sitting indoors when the weather is so nice outside, but in autumn I love going. I went to see the film 'Lucy' last night actually, a brilliant sci-fi action thriller starring Scarlett Johansson and Morgan Freeman and directed by Luc Besson. It was the perfect piece of escapism for a Friday evening.

Updating your make up/wardrobe. When the summer ends, sandals need to be traded in for boots, maxi dresses need to be swapped for jumpers and jeans...what more of a perfect excuse could one desire for a shopping trip?! Then there is the make up, summery pinks can be swapped for rich burgundy's and chocolate browns...sounds like a good reason to drop into Boots...!

Ah, autumn, you look lovely today ;)

Red wine is perfect in autumn, the rich flavours just go perfectly with colder weather.

I recently bought the new MUA Luxe Velver Lip Lacquer in the shade 'Funk'. It was only £3 yet it gives a velvety finish of rich cherry/pink colour which lasts all day. I was seriously impressed!

The MUA Velvet Lip Lacquer in 'Funk'

A trip to the cinema :)

It seems like I cannot go a day without a trip to Starbucks. How amazing is the new Guatemala coffee they have on offer? I would definitely recommend it, I had my usual iced latte with an extra shot and it was delicious.

There was an amazing sunset tonight, and a reflection of the new moon in the water too. I only had my iPhone, but the picture still managed to capture the amazing colours.

So that is all for now lovely readers. Let me know what you all like the most about autumn. I love to read your sweet comments and I follow back my followers.

Until next time,
