Higher than a satellite...

Hi everyone, I hope you are all well. This past week has been a crazily busy one for me. I went to Chester for a four day mini break with my Mum as you all know and then I went straight to Manchester when I got back from Chester for a photo shoot with Grafea bags! This was a very exciting blogger milestone for me as it was the first time I have been invited to collaborate with a big brand on a photo shoot. I will devote a post to the photo shoot, but first a quick recap on the trip to Chester. We had a fab time, and did a lot of shopping, sightseeing, eating and drinking! I went into Zara in Chester, not intending to buy anything...within ten minutes however, I had seen this perfect coat! It is a lovely grey/mink colour, it s made from thick snug wool and it has a beautiful draped collar and belt. I just could not resist it! Even though it was £109 so fairly expensive, I just know that it is such a classic investment piece for my wardrobe. I will wear it year after year and it will keep me warm. Can you tell I am excited about this coat?!

So, we had an amazing time in Chester and we soaked up as much as we could of this beautiful city within a few days. We visited the Dewa Roman Experience and the Roman Ampitheatre as well as Chester Cathedral. We also went for several lovely meals and had a few spa treatments which was fun!

Wait until the night...

*Scheduled post as I am away in Chester*

Don't you just love checking out the history in your local museum? I am lucky enough to live close to Liverpool where there are lots of amazing museums and galleries to visit. Saturday was a relaxing day, running around town, drinking coffee at various places and then visiting the Maritime Museum before dinner. First things first, let me surprise you guys with another all black outfit! It just works for me as a style formula, I have never worn much colour and I always revert to black time and time again! This time, I paired a maxi dress from New Look with a double breasted blazer from Primark. I love this blazer, it goes so well with a pair of jeans, a t-shirt and heels or thrown over a dress. That hat again, I know...hold up a minute, I have gone from never wearing hats to practically living in these floppy wool ones over the last couple of months! I just find them so easy to wear and they add anther dash of chic to a plain outfit! I have had my hair freshly ombred again too, it looks a lot more vibrant now which I am happy about as the colour was beginning to fade, but as usual it dries my hair out terribly. If you all have any amazing conditioners to recommend to me I would be delighted to hear your tips! Thanks guys.

Treats at Caffe Nero, youu can't beat a mince pie with cream at this time of the year!

The Titanic exhibition at the Merseyside Maritime Museum was so moving and I enjoyed it thoroughly. I have always been obsessed by the Titanic and it was amazing to see items which had been recovered from the site of the wreck, such as jewellery cases and bowls. It really reminds you that the Titanic was so much more than the famous story we all think about, the human element behind the tragedy is reinforced by this exhibition and it urges you to think about each individual person who was on board the famous ship. All their hopes, dreams and fears...so many different people who stepped on to the ship never knowing what tragedy awaited them.

This haunting silhouette showed a violinist playing, reminiscent of the band members who played on the deck of the Titanic right until the the ship went down. The last song they apparently played was 'Nearer my God to thee'.

A beautiful sunset over the River Mersey.

Twilight at the River Mersey.

So that is all for now lovely readers, what did you do at the weekend? Remember, I love to read your sweet comments and I follow back my followers.

Until next time,

Let me in, you won't regret it...

Hi everyone, how are you all? Suddenly it feels like winter is truly here, and there has been a definite bite in the air lately. Still, all the more excuse to wear my favourite faux fur coat all the time!
I am going away for a couple of days next week with my mum, so I am looking forward to that. It is a last minute trip and we are not going far, only to Chester for a couple of days of girl time. Much eating, drinking, shopping and sightseeing will be on the cards. If any of you know any good places to eat/shop/visit in Chester, please let me know.
I have only been there a couple of times before, so it is a city I do not know very well. I have been quite predictable with my outfits this week I'm afraid. Rushing around has made me reach many times for my favourite Primark cold-knee jeans with a simple black sheer shirt and the floppy hat which you are all sick of seeing me in! I wore this to run errands, paired with my faithful faux fur jacket. Now that Autumn is here, I have been enjoying wearing bolder lipsticks. In the pictures below the outfit pics, I am wearing Collection cosmetics lipstick in the shade -'Seduction' it is a lovely rich and vampy deep plum.

Head to toe Primark and a Michael Kors Bag

I was kindly invited to a fashion show and dinner last week at one of my favourite restaurants, The Wro in West Kirby, Wirral. I didn't get chance to take pictures of the clothes, as I was too busy concentrating on the food and wine! I had a delicious Red Pepper and Parmesan soup, followed by Cajun Chicken. I was the only person to order dessert on the entire table, but I have to order dessert so that I can share the pictures with you guys...right?! That is what I keep telling myself anyway!

The Sunday Chill...

Hi everyone, here is a quick Sunday post from me. I woke up this morning (ok, it was more like this afternoon, but let's just gloss over that!) feeling like I needed a little bit of pampering. This may have been down to me going to a lovely bonfire party the night before and having far too much to eat and drink, but hey-ho!
I also went to the cinema to see Interstellar this weekend. What a movie, amazing performances from the actors, stunning effects and a mind-bending plot which is no less than you would expect from such a masterful director as Christopher Nolan. Inception is another great film of his. Anyway, the plot is far too intricate to explain here and I am no film reviewer, but suffice to say I recommend you all go and see it at the earliest opportunity!
Anyway, back to this afternoon. The first thing I did was painted my nails in Nails Inc 'Paddington' polish, a lovely dark grey shade which is perfect for autumn. Then in the spirit of a lazy Sunday, I decided to read a book for a while over a cup of my favourite Clipper Earl Grey Tea. I have read Lolita before,so I decided to start reading the Adventures of Augie March by Saul Bellow. I am loving this book so far, it is engaging and moving with descriptive  prose.

After that, I finally hit the shower and lathered up in this gorgeous scented Right Guard shower gel with Argan, Marula and Almond Oil. I then moisturised with Nivea Firming Body Lotion and Superdrug Body Lotion with Coconut and Sweet Lime. This smells amazing and whisks me off to a tropical paradise!

Next it was time to pamper my skin, I did a mini facial with Sanctuary Polishing Hot Cloth Cleanser, which leaves my skin looking so fresh and healthy. I followed that with a quick wash in cold water, using Nivea Daily Essentials Refreshing Facial Wash Gel and I then moisturised using Nivea Soft.

In the shower, I washed my hair in L'Oreal Elvive Nourishing Shampoo with Flower Oils and conditioned it with Herbal Essences Bee Strong Intensive Mask. After blow drying my hair, I spritzed it with Batiste Dry Shampoo in Oriental and backcombed my hair for added volume.

I was finally ready to meet a friend for coffee and a chat!

We went to Lush of course!

Spooky!

So that is all for now lovely readers, how did you spend your Sunday?
