Take it all and run with it...

Hi everyone, I hope that you have all had a lovely weekend, and enjoy your Labor Day weekend to any US readers. I have spent a wonderful weekend visiting my beautiful cousin and her children in Yorkshire. After a somewhat challenging journey due to a road being closed, I arrived on Saturday afternoon.
After catching up on our news we headed to the local pub, The Fairway in Barnsley, for a late lunch/early dinner. The food was delicious, and I had Scampi and Chips with a chilled glass of Pinot Grigio. My cousin had a chicken dish and there was Steak for the boys and Sausage and Mash for the little one. The peppercorn sauce served with the steak was so yummy that I had some of it with my chips too!  We had a lovely meal and I could not resist ordering a Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert! Here is what I wore on the last day of my trip:

Jeans, top, kimono and shoes- all Primark
Bag- Forever 21
Necklace- H&M

 Lunch at the pub

After the amazing meal, it was time for a lovely walk in the sunshine around Newmillerdam country park in Wakefield. There was a beautiful lake, with all manner of ducks, geese and swans waiting to be fed some bread. The scenery was so peaceful, and the walk was just what we all needed after a few hours in the pub.

Those were just a few of the highlights of the Saturday, and then on Sunday my amazingly talented singer-songwriter cousin Jack performed us an acoustic one hour set in the kitchen over breakfast. It was a real treat because his voice and guitar playing are incredible and he is this talented at just 15 years old!
Check him out on Instagram @poggypatrol

After that we relaxed for a few hours, then headed to Pizza Hut for lunch! I had not been there for ages and oh my goodness, the cheesy bites pizza is just a revelation!

Oh my, what amazing pizza!

Me with my lovely cousin Jack and his equally lovely friend Kurt who joined us for lunch too.

I have had such a wonderful time in Yorkshire everyone, I cannot say enough how lovely it is to go away for the weekend. It does not have to be an expensive trip,  just a couple of days visiting family is amazing fun, and without sounding too much like a Hallmark card, it is lovely to make memories together! Thank you so much to my cousin and her lovely family for the weekend of fun and food!

During the visit I got a new foundation, the Estée Lauder Double Wear Light Foundation in Intensity 2.0
This is an excellent quality foundation which leaves a silky smooth texture on the skin and lasts all day without 'sliding'off. It stays matt and photo-perfect and I would say it is one of the best foundations I have ever tried. It retails around £30 from John Lewis, Selfridges and other good department stores. I would certainly recommend it as a more high-end foundation, it is a treat to use this as I usually stick to my Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation (which is also very good) which costs about £6, but it is lovely to use high-end products as a luxury.

What high-end beauty products do you all recommend? Let me know of any must-haves please! Remember, I love to read your sweet comments and I follow back my followers.
 Until next time,

All you need to do is say my name...

Well here we are again and it is Friday, blink and you will miss anther week rushing by, or so it seems lately! You know that I am like a broken record on the subject of how quickly time seems to pass, so I won’t bore you with it again! So, how are you all? I do hope that you have had a good week and that you are looking forward to the pleasures of the weekend. In my eyes, these include having a long lie-in, cooking breakfast (or better yet, finding some willing soul to bring you breakfast in bed!) going on walks (weather permitting) and maybe popping out for a couple of drinks with friends. It is getting quite funny, that when I walk in to my local bar, they automatically pour me a large glass of Pint Grigiot without me asking! I don't see the harm in the odd glass of wine, as long as you are an adult!  Also, do not even get me started on how much I love having a cheese board paired with a nice glass or two of red. Pinot Noir or Shiraz seems to pair very well with Vintage Cheddar. Mmm...here I go again digressing about food. So, before this blog turns in to vintners monthly I will move swiftly on.

The thing is, I have been all organised for once and I actually have made concrete plans this weekend which I am really looking forward to. I am going to Yorkshire to visit my beautiful cousin and her children. I suspect there will be much talking, visiting fun places and eating delicious food. I have heard mention of homemade ice cream being for sale in the area, so that is definitely on my hit-list! I really cannot wait, because as I have said a lot recently, it is so nice to get away and have a change of scenery every once in a while.  So, this week I have been up to the usual mixture of work and play. Here are a few snippets from my week:

I threw on this outfit which may look familiar as I have been living in it lately. I promise to mix it up a bit more soon, it is just that I am addicted to wearing this duster coat from Primark, which I also have in white. I love these skinny 'cold-knee' ripped jeans from there too. they were only £13. Bargain, so you just know that I had to get two pairs.

Jeans, duster coat, shoes and top- all Primark
Necklace-H&M
Bag-Forever 21

Sorry for my moody expression as usual, it was very windy so I was trying to stop my coat from flapping and ruining the outfit pictures!
I got these shoes in Primark this week. When I got to the checkout they had been reduced from £16 to £7. Don't you just love it when that happens? I was so thrilled. I love everything about them, the heel (not ridiculously high) the clunky style and the ankle straps *insert heart-eyes emoticon*
I am seriously in love with these shoes!
Train essentials- Grazia and new shoes!

Going out for drinks with friends is always a pleasure. I will really miss sitting outside my favourite bar in the autumn and winter!
A foray in to Paperchase...a girl can never have too many sticky notes in my opinion!

Paperchase has such a cute selection of reusable cups!

I was in love with this kimono/jacket in Primark. I thought it was so cute, but was it too much like a dressing gown, what do you guys think? I did not buy it. *Update* I went in after lunch today and it was reduced from £14 to £7, so I bought it. Smoking jacket/ dressing gown chic here I come!

The kimono was reduced in price, I guess it was meant to be!

Pretty Hydrangeas in Liverpool One

Inside the Harvey Nichols Beauty Bazaar in Liverpool One

Yes, forgive me, for I have sinned. Filet-of-fish, fries, mozzarella sticks and a strawberry milkshake. We have all been there....right?! Or is it just me that craves junk food every now and then *most days* ;)

 The Bluecoat Gallery

A cute sign in the courtyard.

If you are ever in Liverpool, I would thoroughly recommend a visit to The Bluecoat Gallery. It is a lovely place to spend a couple of hours, enjoying the art exhibitions and then having coffee and cake in the beautiful courtyard garden (weather permitting) or inside on rainy days. There is also a restaurant upstairs which does amazing food. Possibly one of the best things about the Bluecoat is that it is situated so close to Primark. I am not obsessed, honestly. Ok, I have a problem... Primark-addiction is a serious concern in my life! In all seriousness, they have some amazing exhibitions, workshops and lectures. The website describes The Bluecoat as not only a gallery but a 'creative hub' which seems like a fair assessment to me!

I hope that you all have a lovely weekend. Do let me know what your plans are, remember, I love to read your comments and I follow back my followers :)

Until next time,

Every time I see your face...

A relaxed recent outfit of the day: Head to toe Primark. I am so boring you guys, but I love to shop there! The only part of this outfit not from Primark is the H&M Rose Gold Chain necklace I am wearing :)

 This sign was genius !!
A working lunch at Starbucks ? If you insist!
The A624 Road near my parents house.... I love this road for its dramatic views!  :)

Erm, how cute was this bicycle that I saw in Liverpool One at the weekend ?! Exactly :)
Fried egg on toast and coffee in the garden, now that's how to start the day!
Fish and Chips. That is all :)
Pretty boats on the Wirral :)
Biscuits which contain Earl Grey...hello, what is this sorcery ?! ;P

Hi everyone, how are you all? I do hope that you had a good weekend. It was a Bank Holiday weekend here in the UK and which meant another day to fill with pleasurable pursuits.
On Saturday, I went shopping in Liverpool (I know, again!) but I did not buy much this time after my last spree. I saw lots of things I would have liked though! Why is it always the case, that you see so many things to buy when you are trying to resist?!  I went for a wander into the Harvey Nichols Beauty Bazaar in Liverpool One and oh my goodness you guys, I could have happily spend thousands of pounds! I came away empty handed though, round of applause please!
Anyway, when I came back from shopping I had dinner at the pub in the evening, which was relaxing and fun. I had a veggie burger with fries and it was delicious, full of mozzarella cheese and roasted peppers. Miam-miam!
I was also treated to Fish and Chips the other day and boy were they delicious ! :) So much good food in the world and so little time...!
On Sunday, I went out for a drink at a local pub and then I went to visit my family in Derbyshire, from where I write this post. I am sitting on my parents Chesterfield sofa with a mug of coffee, wearing no makeup whatsoever!  I am sure that you all agree, that no matter how old you are or where you live, it is always nice to come home.
Somehow, nothing beats walking around the driveway and seeing Minnie (our family dog) hurtling towards me with her tail wagging! We always sit down together and have a Chinese take away and catch up on all our news, or if there is a party going on in their neighbourhood, we have a few drinks and a bite to eat there, which is what we did this weekend at a barbecue party. I wanted a simple make up look, so here is what I went for in the end, plus an overview of the products used.

Face of the day. Products used:
Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in 'true ivory'
Seventeen phwoarr paint concealer in 'fair'

Pretty tubs of flowers at my parents house :)

Biscuits with cheese before I left on Monday, how could I resist ?!

How did you all enjoy the weekend and what did you get up to? Remember, I love to read your comments and I follow back my followers!

Until next time,
