That's amore...!

I thought I would post a quick pizza recipe, because I have not posted any recipes for a while, and who can resist a delicious pizza fresh out of the oven?!
First here is a quick recipe for the dough!

Quick no-yeast pizza dough:
Ingredients
(Serves 4)
  • 225g self-raising flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 60g margarine/softened butter
  • 150ml milk
  • pizza toppings of your choice
    Method:
  • Preheat the oven to 190 C / Gas 5.
  • Sift the flour and salt into a bowl. Rub the butter into the flour and salt until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Pour the milk into the bowl gradually and mix to a soft dough.
  • Knead the dough and roll out into a large circle about 1cm thick. Place on oiled baking tray then top with pizza sauce and toppings of your choice.
  • Bake the pizza in the preheated oven until the crust is golden, about 20 minutes.

Ideas for toppings, pizza sauce with any of the following:
Mozzarella and cooked chicken, with mixed herbs.
Mozzarella, grated cheddar and tuna.
Mozzarella, grated cheddar and salami/prosciutto.
Mozzarella, red onion and olives.
Or anything that you prefer on a pizza!

Pizza sauce:
One carton tomato passata.
One tablespoon tomato purée.
Generous pinch of dried mixed herbs.
Swirl the sauce onto the pizza bases before adding the other toppings.

If you are using a ready-bought base, just add your own toppings and follow the instruction on the packaging in regard to cooking times.

Above: The finished result, tuna and mozzarella pizza on the left, mozzarella and chicken pizza on the right.
A glass of wine complimented the pizza perfectly!
A slice of the tuna pizza.
I like to serve pizza on these wooden boards from Ikea, I just think they look nicer served that way!

I cheated and used Tesco ready made stuffed-crust pizza bases! These are a nice quick-fix for a lazy night and all you need to do is put the pizza sauce, any other toppings you want and the cheese on top and then pop them into the oven for 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbling.

If you are feeling more energetic, try the simple yeast-free pizza dough recipe above. No rising time is involved, so it is very straight-forward.

When the pizzas were cooked I topped them with some washed baby spinach leaves.  This made the pizzas look nicer and also made them a touch healthier!

I hope you enjoy this recipe and do tell me what you all like to eat? I love to read your comments and I follow back my followers!
