All black everything...

Well, I know that I say this practically every time that I post, but I cannot believe that another week has flown by again and here we are again at the start of a new one. I hope that you have all been ok and that you have had a lovely weekend.
I think the time goes by so much more quickly when you are busy, and I have been busier than usual lately, which is good. I enjoy having things going on and rushing around more than usual.
A while ago, I bought a lovely long length black kimono from H&M and I had not had a chance to wear it until Friday.
I had the outfit all planned out, revolving around wearing the kimono with the shorts that I got recently from Primark.
Of course, it was raining, but I decided to wear it anyway...you can't let a good outfit plan go to waste right ladies?!

Kimono-H&M.
Bag, t-shirt, shorts and necklace-Primark.
Sandals- New Look.
Lunch at my favourite bar on Saturday.
Tuna Melt Jacket Potato, Bacon and Mozzarella Panini and a bowl of 'Cheeky Fries' ;p
 Mississippi Mud Cake!
All in all, another lovely lunch at The Wro in West Kirby

How did you all enjoy the weekend? I did not get up to that much, I went out for drinks on Friday night and lunch on Saturday, then Sunday was just a chilled out day in Liverpool walking by the river and watching the world go by. Later there was a spectacular sunset in West Kirby, which I loved seeing as always. I feel very lucky to live by the water and I love watching the sailing boats on the Marine Lake. It is a relaxing place to gather your thoughts. Let me know how you all are, I read and appreciate every comment and I follow back my followers.

Sunset.

Until next time!

Flowers in my hair...

I was recently sent a sample of Batiste Fun and Floral Dry Shampoo, (which was developed with Pixie Lott) for review by their lovely PR people. A big thank you to the lovely Lisa for sending me this!
This product usually costs around £2.99 RRP and is available at Boots and Superdrug.  Even though I did not purchase this product myself, all opinions are honest and my own. I was delighted to receive this, because you all know that I am a big fan of Batiste Dry Shampoo already!
I use it literally every day, even when I have just washed my hair, because it gives my hair amazing texture and volume. I always spray it on close to the roots of my hair, and then allow it to ‘sit’ there for a minute before I brush it through. Once I have brushed it out, I then use a large paddle brush to backcomb my hair at the roots for added volume.
I usually use the Blush edition dry shampoo or the XXL Volume one (which I love using before a night out because it gives my hair mega volume!)
I had not tried this new edition before, so I was really glad to get the chance to try it. The first thing that struck me about the product was the fun and colourful packaging,
the patterned green and blue design and the picture of Pixie Lott really make this product a cute addition to your dressing table or bathroom shelf.

I washed and blow dried my hair as usual, before quickly running my straightening irons through it. Next, I sprayed on the dry shampoo and backcombed my hair at the crown. I was truly impressed with how much volume and texture the product gave my hair, as well as making it smell like a meadow of wildflowers!
The dry shampoo definitely gave my hair plenty of body which lasted all day.
In the evening, I put my hair up to go for a walk and the dry shampoo really held the style in place as well as giving it more texture than usual.

I love the way your hair has so much more volume when you use Batiste Dry Shampoo.

When I sprayed the product on, the floral fragrance came as a lovely surprise. I love the fragrance of the Blush Dry Shampoo, but this one has a light, slightly oriental fragrance which is perfect for those summer nights, parties and drinks with friends. I was so impressed by the volume that this product gave my hair. I also recommend using Batiste Dry Shampoo if you are wearing your hair up, because the texture that the product gives your hair makes your hairstyle last longer.
If you have long enough hair, a fun summer style is two divide it into two equal sections, plait the sections and pin them loosely up on your head with hair pins. This creates a lovely boho hair style which stays in longer if you use dry shampoo first. Pull a few strands of hair loose to frame your face and complete the look. A messy texture makes this style look even prettier.
All in all, I was so impressed by this product that I will definitely be using it on a regular basis from now on. I loved the fragrance, the packaging and the volume that it gave my hair.  I think the price is very reasonable too, as you only need a little spray of it to revive your hair in between washes or to give volume to your everyday style. Batiste Dry Shampoo is definitely a saviour when it comes to holidays, festivals, camping and nights out. I just can’t get through the day without it and this one is a welcome addition to the range.

This would not be a post from me without me including a quick outfit of the day! I just threw on this H&M dress and Kimono for a day in the city. This dress is such an easy piece to wear and it only cost £7.99 ! I love outfits like this that can just be put together at the last minute without any forethought.

Nothing was the same...

Hi lovelies, I hope that you all had a great weekend. I spent mine at my parents farmhouse in Derbyshire. It is so nice and peaceful there and it does me good to enjoy the tranquility and to catch up with my family and our pets.
We had a Chinese take away on Saturday night when I arrived, and Sunday was a lovely relaxing day. We had tea on the lawn and I lay on the hammock in the shade to write this post.
Tea was lovely because my mum got a beautiful antique tea-set out and it looked so pretty. Each piece had a story behind it because both the cups and the plates were decorated with American historical events such as the Battle of the Alamo. We drank Earl Grey tea and caught up on all the news we had to tell each other.
Going to the countryside always makes me think about how little I ever relax usually. When I am there, I just love lying back and looking up at the sky. Seeing birds soaring high above gives me a little perspective and makes me realise that the things I worry about so often are not really worth spending so much time thinking about.
It is so easy to dwell on things and to waste time worrying, but ultimately it is pointless. Instead, I want to seize happiness and joy in life from now on. Life is so short and there are so many wonderful things to enjoy in it when we just open our eyes to the possibilities.
I think it is always good to get away for a couple of days because it helps you to forget the stress of everyday life. Being in a quiet place, surrounded by beautiful gardens and rolling fields, I recognise that life is something to be enjoyed, not to be wasted on worrying about things.
I also believe that it is good to surround yourself with positive and uplifting people. My mum and my best friend are two people who always empower me and tell me I can achieve anything that I set my mind to. I feel really lucky to have them in my life. I would say the same to everybody, always surround yourself with as many uplifting and positive people as possible, because their outlook will ultimately rub off on you.
In terms of clothes, I spent most of the weekend in a maxi dress as usual, so I am including the outfit I wore when I got back home. We all know that I wear far too much black, but I just cannot get past the fact that it is chic, flattering and easy to throw on....!

 Shorts, T-shirt and sunglasses- Primark
Sandals-New Look
Bag-Forever 21

I love these Primark sunglasses and they only cost £1. Amazing!

I threw on my favourite long cardigan  over the outfit when it got chilly.
Cardgan-Primark.
I love wearing a long cardigan with shorts, I think the different lengths look cool.

A little tea on the lawn at the weekend.

I vase of flowers always makes a table setting look pretty.
A lovely sunny day.

On another note,  I want to round up some of my current beauty favourites for you!:

Dove Summer Glow + Soft Shimmer- I love this product so much , it is a foolproof gradual tanner which does exactly what it says, gives your skin a lovely summer glow. The soft shimmer in the product is also really flattering to skin and you can easily apply it before you go out for the evening, knowing that the shimmer will look nice. It has a pleasant scent too, which is a bonus.

Garnier Summer Body –Another great gradual tanner, quick and easy to use, mistake proof and subtle. A great product for getting that gradual glow.

Simple Facial Wash Gel- This is a lovely, refreshing facial wash gel which leaves skin feeling clean and soft.

Nivea Daily Essentials Sensitive Day Cream- A perfect summer moisturiser, because it contains SPF 15 and it sinks straight into your skin, making it a great base for make up.

Well, that is all for now. Tell me what you all got up to over the weekend, also, are there any must-have summer beauty products that you would recommend to me? Thank you for all your lovely comments, I read each one and I follow back my followers!

Have a great week.

You act so different around me...

Hi everyone, how are you all? I can't believe that another week has already flown by and the weekend is here again, I hope that you have all been ok and that you have had a good week. Where does the time go lately?...
The speed at which this year is flying past is almost scary! I haven't done that many exciting things during this past week, as I have been working non-stop and trying to make as much headway as possible on a couple of ongoing projects, but I did find the time for a lovely lunch with a dear friend of mine at The Wro in West Kirby. It was so nice to sit outside on the sunny terrace and catch up on all our gossip over some delicious food and wine! Style wise, it has been so hot that I have been wearing my go-to outfit of a maxi dress most days! The outfit below is the one I wore out to lunch. I am so glad that I have met more people now in my area and I feel so lucky to go out and have lunch with a friend.
I feel as though I am settling in more and more in the town where I am living, I only moved here last November and it was a really big change for me and I cannot lie, it has been lonely and very difficult to settle in at times.
One tip that I would suggest when you move to a new place where you do not know anybody, is to join as many things as possible in order to meet people, such as language lessons, fitness classes or book groups. These are a great way to meet people and to get used to the local area. It can be daunting to live in a new place, and there is no overnight solution to how lonely it can feel. All I would suggest is to stick with it because things do improve and eventually you will start to feel more at home. It is exactly the same when moving away to university, I would suggest joining as many clubs and societies as possible as these are a great way to meet people at uni.
I love this H&M kimono, it looks really feminine and it is perfect to throw on over a dress.

Maxi dress and handbag-Primark.
Kimono-H&M.

Fresh faced make up of the day. I love this triangle necklace I got from Primark!

Lunch with my dear friend at The Wro bar in West Kirby. She had a bacon and mozzarella panini, I had a tuna melt jacket potato. The food was delicious as always, and so was the chilled Pinot Grigio we had with it!

The hardest part is choosing from the menu, there is so much lovely food on offer at The Wro!
 Coffee and blogging.
I love summer, maxi dresses and aviators all day everyday!
Essentials of the day: Starbucks Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccino
Zara Nuit Perfume (I love this perfume!)
Collection Lipgloss in 'Prom Queen'
Topshop Cream Blush in 'Neon Rose'

I love these new Skullcandy Uprock headphones that I got recently. They sound and look amazing but they only cost £22.

A breathtaking sunset recently, over the Marine Lake at West Kirby.
Well, that is all for now sweeties. I love reading all of your wonderful comments and thank you so much for taking the time to comment and/or follow. I truly appreciate every single comment and I follow back my followers.
Have a great weekend!
