The money, the cars and the clothes...

Hi everybody, how are you all? I hope that you have been having a good weekend so far. So, yesterday I went shopping. As you might imagine, this is a cautionary tale and one which does not end well...!

You know when you set off on a shopping trip promising yourself that you will be good and that you will not spend too much money? Let’s face it, we have all been there and we all know exactly what happens next! I headed to Liverpool One (which was the first mistake, as it is just the best place ever to go shopping) and I managed to walk safely past the temptation of Forever 21 (surely I deserve a gold star for that?!) but then I fell at the next hurdle. Good old H&M. I had not even walked through the door before disaster stuck...I liked everything in the window. Is it just me, or do you all love it when the shops start getting their new season clothes in stock? The coats, the bags and the jewellery...I digress! 

Anyway, I went inside and spotted so many things I wanted, but I managed to resist some of them. If you are looking for new season transitional pieces for your wardrobe, I would suggest popping in to H&M soon. There were so many nice coats, jackets, pencil skirts and tops...trust me, go there soon!

Here is what I found in H&M:

Then it was lunch time, well, a girl needs some fuel to see her through a day of intense shopping! Guess where I headed? Starbucks. I know you guys will be very shocked...! 

Next, I went to Primark and all ideas of restraint really went out of the window! Here is what I tried on, I did not buy all of it though...

Review: Nair Hair Removal Products With Argan Oil

Hi everyone, I hope that you are all ok and that you had a good weekend! To begin this post, here is a quick outfit of the day I wore recently. This vaguely ties in to the post, because I had just used the Nair roll-on wax before I wore this outfit so you can see what my legs looked like after using it!

I am just grabbing a quick lunch alone whilst I write this post. I bet you will be so surprised to learn that I ordered a tuna melt jacket potato again....! I am so addicted it is not even funny! 

 I was recently lucky enough to be sent some of the new Nair products with Argan Oil courtesy of the lovely Lisa at JW PR. A great big thank you to Lisa for sending these out to me, I feel so blessed and honoured to be sent samples to try for the blog!
Despite me not having purchased these items myself, all opinions are my own and 100% honest.

Hair removal, it’s a tricky little thing, let's be honest. When it comes to beauty-related things that I actually enjoy doing, hair removal is certainly not one of them. Sitting down to paint my nails is almost relaxing, taking the time to pamper myself with a facial at home is enjoyable, but when it comes to hair removal I consider it a chore rather than a pleasure, so anything which makes it that bit easier or more pleasant has to be a winning product.

I was pleasantly surprised by all of these products, so I will give you an overview of them so you can decide whether or not to rush out and buy them.

Washable Roll-On Wax:

This product boasts a rapid heat up time (it can be warmed up in the microwave in 20-25 seconds) , it promises results which last up to four weeks and it also promises to remove even very short hair. I found that it was fairly simple to use and it did leave my skin very soft and smooth. I felt that the Argan Oil in the whole range of products left my skin feeling very pleasant and much softer than it would have done without the inclusion of the oil in the product. The wax is easy to use because it simply rolls on and then you remove the hair by laying the woven strips provided over the area you have covered with the wax and pulling it swiftly away. I found that they removed easily and painlessly and there was soft skin left underneath. 

Body Wax Strips:

These are so quick and easy to use and they leave skin soft and (in my experience) not irritated other than a slight redness which faded almost instantly. These are ideal for when you need a ‘quick fix’ prior to a night out, or a trip to the gym or swimming pool. They come with cooling wipes for use before waxing and moisturising wipes for use afterwards. These definitely make the product gentler on the skin.  Basically,for any occasion when you need fast and effective hair removal, these are your new best friend. They are suitable for use on the legs, bikini line and under the arms too, which makes them even handier to have in your beauty arsenal ;)

Facial Wax Strips:

To be honest, unwanted hair is a pest and embarrassing to boot, but we all have times where there is perhaps a bit of hair that we wish would frankly just disappear....! These are a quick and easy way to make that happen. Once again, they come with cooling wipes for use before waxing and moisturising wipes for afterwards. They are rapid, effective and easy to use. They also contain Argan Oil and Jojoba Oil, so they are softening too. Enough said!

Shower Power Cream:

Once again, I was so impressed by how quick and easy to use this product was. It is suitable for dry and sensitive skin and it really takes the hassle out of hair removal. Just apply it to the area you want to remove the hair from, then leave for a couple of minutes, get in the shower and hey presto, after a couple more minutes you shower it off to leave smooth and hair free skin. The only tricky part is that the instructions suggest not exposing the area where you have applied the cream to too much water, which is a bit tricky when you are in the shower. However, it is easy enough to shower around the areas you have applied it to until it is time to remove it fully.

All in all, I would definitely recommend this range for fast, efficient and reliable hair removal which leaves skin soft and smooth. The products are widely available at Boots and Superdrug stores, as well as good supermarkets. They are reasonably priced and the results are impressive.

Pour it up, pour it up...

Hi lovely readers, so another week has flown by and...blah, blah, I am sure you guys are sick of me saying this, but seriously, how time flies when you are having fun! I cannot believe it is Friday again and another weekend is ahead.
This week I have been up to a lot of boring things which don't warrant a mention here (work mainly!) but also a lot of fun things which do warrant a mention!

In no particular order, here is what brought a smile to my face this week:

Clothes.
Technically, clothes make me happy every week, not just this week. Deciding what to wear is something I enjoy, but as usual I have been wearing...drum-roll...black again! I stick to what I know suits me...!

Dress- New Look

Shorts, top and sleeveless jacket-Primark.

Bag and flip-flops- Forever 21.

Walks.
Now I live by the water, I try to go for at least one long walk every day. It clears my mind and makes me feel a million times better. I would love it even more if I could have my family dog with me, but hey-ho, she lives with my parents in Derbyshire having a lovely life on their 40 acre farm so I know she is happy. I miss her so much though! Here are some sunset pictures I took this week:

Lunch.
I had two lovely lunches with amazing people this week, and yes, I did order a Tuna Melt Jacket Potato for one of the lunches...seriously my addiction knows no bounds!!
It is always lovely to catch up with the people in this world who make me happy, they are moments to treasure indeed.

Drinks.
I also had a few enjoyable catch up sessions over a drink or two with friends. Relaxing over a glass of wine and good conversation is lovely.

Coffee.
Where would I be without this magical elixir...?! Coffee gets me through the day and I also find it so easy to work in Starbucks away from all the distractions. I also enjoy going for coffee and cake at my favourite local place, Amici in West Kirby. In this case I actually had Coca Cola rather than coffee because it was so hot. I had coffee and walnut cake too, so delicious!

My usual in Starbucks, a venti iced latte with an extra shot of espresso ;p

Pasta.

This really needs no explanation, it is like a big hug in the form of food! I made conchiglie al forno with a basic meat-free ragu the other night and it was delicious despite being so easy to make ;p

Throw your diamonds in the sky if you feel the vibe...

Hi everyone, I hope that you all had a lovely weekend. I was lucky enough to have a nice visit to my family home in Derbyshire this weekend and there was lots of good food, catching up and enjoying the sunshine and the beautiful views.
Before departing from my home on the Wirral, I went out for a pub lunch because it was such a sunny afternoon and it seemed like a shame to spend it all sitting in the car!
When we did eventually set off, there was a huge delay on the M56 motorway, so you just know that we had to stop for coffee to 'fuel' us for the rest of the long journey ;)
I know that drive-thru Starbucks are a thing in the States, but I have only ever been to one in the the UK that had drive-thru. This is so unfair in my opinion and we definitely need more drive-thru coffee places here!

 I love this kimono so much! 

Simple make up as usual and my trusty Primark aviators. Ok, these are not designer sunglasses but they look chic and they only cost £2 so it does not matter when I lose them or scratch them! I am wearing possibly my favourite lipstick ever, Collection cosmetics in shade 06 'Bubblegum'

For the pub lunch I got the chance to wear my new floral kimono. I paired it with all black (as usual!) and the result was an easy to wear outfit which was ideal for lunch at the pub!

When I got to Derbyshire, I spent the rest of the weekend chatting, eating good food and catching up with my beloved pets :) we got a Chinese take away on Saturday night which has been a tradition in my family for as long as I can remember. If you ask me, traditions which revolve around food are the best kind! 

After dinner, any remaining clouds cleared from the sky and there was a perfect night for star gazing. I saw so many shooting stars and the Milky Way was amazingly clear too. I love star gazing so much, and the skies above my parents farmhouse are ideal because there is hardly any light pollution where they live, which makes for amazing conditions to see the stars. 

 Beef and Ale pie with chips (top of picture) and a Tuna Melt Jacket Potato (bottom of picture) I bet you can guess which was mine as I never seem to order anything but Tuna Jacket Potatoes lately!

The garden at the pub. We managed to enjoy lunch (and a nice bottle of Tempranillo) in the sunshine, despite it threatening to rain at one point! There was a few drops of rain, but then luckily it went back to sunshine. Holla if you understand the perils of summer in the UK! It really is an achievement to eat a meal outside.

Catching up with Minnie, me looking much happier than usual!!  Lol! :)

The Hydrangeas at my parents Farmhouse are in full bloom, I think I need to water mine more....!

Chanson d'amour...

Hi everyone, how are you all? So, another week is drawing to a close and we have the blank canvas of the weekend spread out in front of us. Is it just me, or do you all struggle to pack everything that you want to do into the weekend? By the time Sunday evening rolls around, I am always left with a sense of remorse that I did not get to do more things that I wanted to do. I always feel torn between spending time with my family and going out having fun in the area where I live...
It is a modern preoccupation that we always feel we have to be doing so much, and sometimes I long for a lazy weekend doing nothing in particular other than pottering around the house, catching up on things and having some precious time just to relax. Nevertheless, that sentiment soon vanishes and I am back to wanting to do as much as possible in as little time as possible!

I am sure everyone feels the same and it is so important to make time in the course of a day just to sit back and smell the flowers (or indeed the freshly brewed coffee, yum!)

Outfit wise I am afraid that I have been very boring lately,  sticking to my tried and true formula of black! This dress was £7.99 from H&M and I have worn it so much already that it was a really great buy!

I have not been up to very much this week, but I did go out to dinner to my favourite place. I opted for a delicious Pizza Margherita and a few glasses of Pinot Grigio. Bliss.
